Katowice, a city dynamically evolving from an industrial center into a modern metropolis, has just gained a new, strategic culinary hotspot. Located in the very center of the city, near the Main Railway Station, within the iconic Supersam building, ‘Bajsownia’ has officially opened. This unique culinary space introduces a ‘food and chill’ concept to the city.

This is a destination worth remembering—whether you are traveling for business or visiting the Silesia region for leisure. Bajsownia offers a carefully curated selection of artisanal concepts featuring international street food that are debuting in Katowice. It is designed as a ‘third place’ between home and the office, perfectly meeting the needs of modern consumers seeking authenticity, quality, and relaxation.

The Concept and Design

Why ‘Bajsownia’? A Nod to Local Heritage. The name is a direct nod to Silesian heritage: ‘bajs’ means a ‘bite’ or a ‘snack’ in the local dialect. This choice is intentional – the space was created from the start with the spirit of sharing and togetherness in mind, fostering a culture of dining and connecting that resonates with both Polish and international traditions.

Architecture in Dialogue with Nature

The 1,000-square-meter interior was designed by the renowned 3XA studio. The architects focused on a dialogue between the industrial history of the former marketplace and contemporary lifestyle needs. Large windows invite greenery inside, while natural materials, earth tones, and an eclectic ‘modern retro’ style create a unique atmosphere. An additional highlight is the green summer garden terrace, located under historic trees—a perfect spot for a business lunch or an evening gathering.

Artisanal Feasts Without Compromise

Unlike standard food courts, Bajsownia focuses entirely on artisanal concepts and international flavors, offering the high quality that conscious customers expect. Under one roof, you will find eight exceptional brands, including:

Pita Bros – Modern Greek street food based on authentic products.
Ichitomo Modern Ramen & Dumplings
– Artisanal broths and hand-folded dumplings.
Bastardo Italiano
– Roman culinary culture, featuring fresh pasta and crispy pizza.
El Patrón
– Authentic Mexican street food. …and other concepts offering Asian flavors (Zen Thai, Noodle House, Curry Leaves) and high-quality burgers (Palm Premium Burgers).

The heart of the zone is a centrally located Cocktail & Bar, with a menu specially crafted to complement the dishes served.

Bajsownia is a community-focused space designed to integrate office workers, local residents, and visitors to Katowice. We warmly invite you to explore this new culinary destination during your next visit to the capital of Silesia.
